Buses taken off the road because they drove around with the same license plate

Two vans were taken off the road in Eindhoven and Nistelrode on Thursday afternoon, because they drove around with the same license plate. “Probably one of the two vans was stolen and used for shady business,” said a correspondent.

“It happens more often that criminals ‘clone’ a vehicle,” says the correspondent. “They then copy the license plates of a similar vehicle so that everything is correct when the police check the criminals’ cars.”

Big police force
A large police force was deployed to find the bus in Eindhoven. A police helicopter also circled over the city. The bus was eventually arrested by the police.

Both buses have been impounded. The police are now investigating which of the two vans drove around with false plates and what exactly that van was used for. Both directors may later report to the Public Prosecution Service.
