Bangladesh police have arrested eight people following a deadly factory fire yesterday. Among them is the owner of the factory.
At least 52 people died when a fire broke out at the food company. The victims, many of whom were women and children, were unable to get out of the building because doors were locked.
Details about the arrests have not been released, but the interior minister called the loss of so many lives murder.
Difficult identification
Meanwhile, many relatives of factory workers have gathered at city hospitals in search of their loved ones. DNA material is taken from them to identify the fatalities. This is often not possible in other ways because of the fire.
