Sacrificial sticks stolen: Police have so far received five reports
The police are reporting a particularly bold series of burglaries in Haltern: several churches were broken into between Thursday and Sunday. The perpetrators stole the money from the victims’ boxes. An organ pipe was also damaged. A total of five offering boxes are affected plus a donation box in the pilgrimage chapel on Annaberg. The perpetrators didn’t get rich as a result: according to the police, only some cash was missing. There is currently no information about the perpetrator or perpetrators. The investigators therefore hope that witnesses have observed something suspicious at the Haltern churches in the past day and will come forward. In Dorsten last week, the police caught and arrested three suspected burglars in the act.
