Cologne (SID) – The onset of winter puts the women’s soccer Bundesliga again partially out of action on matchday 13. The duels scheduled for Sunday between MSV Duisburg and Bayer Leverkusen and between SC Freiburg and SC Sand are also canceled due to the weather. According to the German Football Association (DFB), the lawns in both stadiums are not playable.
The Friday evening game between Eintracht Frankfurt and SGS Essen had already been canceled for the same reason, and there are still no fix dates. Last weekend, on the first match day after the winter break, only three games could take place, with the match between champions VfL Wolfsburg and Turbine Potsdam (3: 2) being played on an ankle-high blanket of snow.
