Brussels landlord with multiple knife wounds murdered during quarrel | Brussels

BrusselsA 62-year-old man was murdered in an apartment building in the Maurice Lemonnierlaan in the center of Brussels on Tuesday. The suspected perpetrator was arrested on the spot, but the circumstances and the reason for the facts are not yet clear. The prosecutor’s office has confirmed the news.

“We can confirm that a discussion between two people got out of hand on Tuesday between 4.30 and 5 p.m., with one of them stabbing the other several times,” said public prosecutor Willemien Baert. “The victim died on the spot. The prosecutor’s office has requisitioned the lab of the judicial police, a law doctor and the investigating judge. The suspect was arrested and made available to the investigating judge.”

According to local residents, the victim is the landlord of the apartment building. The sixties would have Italian origins and was nicknamed “Tony”. “I was working in the store last night but I haven’t heard anything,” said Mohamed, who works in the convenience store on the ground floor. “I didn’t realize something was wrong until the police arrived. At first I thought it was a simple check. I have to admit, it’s shocking news but it doesn’t surprise me anymore. Lately this neighborhood has been in a lot of trouble and I’ve been hearing stories about thefts and other crimes quite often. A murder is, of course, one step further.”

“He rents out the apartments above the store. His two sons also live here, by the way,” said another employee. “We don’t know much about him, he was a very discreet person. We saw him come by now and then, but he didn’t do more than exchange a greeting.”

Brother of Limburger (41) who was murdered in southern Spain at his wits’ end: “We hear everything through the media, scandalous!”

COLD CASE. One group of friends, two brutal murders, 13 years difference: Peter and Danielle were murdered in identical circumstances. “Is that full moon a coincidence? We may never know”
