Browar Zamkowy in Cieszyn is to be sold by Grupa Żywiec to Felix Investments. Both parties signed a letter of intent to this end. The contract is to be implemented by the end of 2020.

Felix Investments represents the Led family. It is to buy 100 percent. shares in the company Browar Zamkowy Cieszyn. It is one of the oldest breweries in Poland, it has been operating continuously since 1846. Previously, the brewery purchase offer was made by Żywiec: former MP Marek Jakubiak and former MP Janusz Palikot, who is currently dealing production of alcoholic beverages.

“We really wanted Browar Zamkowy Cieszyn to gain an investor who would like to keep not only its current operations and employees, but also its unique character. I am glad that the buyer of the brewery will be a family business operating in Cieszyn Silesia. It is a partner who shares our respect for tradition, and with the projects carried out so far, it proves that it can develop such historical places, giving them a new purpose, ”said the president of Grupa Żywiec Francois-Xavier Mahot, quoted in the release.

The president of Felix Investments, Adam Leda, expressed his satisfaction that Grupa Żywiec “decided to entrust” the company with the further development of the Cieszyn brewery. “It is a real local pride and a pearl not only of brewing but also of tourism. We are true enthusiasts of such unique places and our ambition is not only to maintain the existing, over 170-year-old heritage of the brewery, but also to develop it, ”he said.

Felix Investments is a group of local entrepreneurs who operate, among others in the Cieszyn poviat. There are three restaurants in Ustroń. They plan to open two more in Wisła and Katowice. Last year the company bought a meat plant in Bielsko-Biała. In Lower Silesia, for almost 20 years, a historic palace from the 18th century in Jedlina-Zdrój has been restored, which now houses a museum, hotel, hostel, ballrooms, and since 2014 also a brewery.
