London – Three British volunteers were killed in an Israeli attack on Gaza. Apart from them, 4 volunteers from countries including the US have been killed in the attack by Israel. There has been a huge international protest over the incident. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said he was concerned about the deaths of volunteers.
John Chapman (57), James Henderson (33) and James Kirby (47) from Britain died in Monday’s attack. Others killed in the Israeli attack were Australian citizen Lalzaomi Francom, Polish citizen Damien Sobol, Palestinian Saif Abu Taha and US-Canadian Jacob Flickinger. Volunteer activities in the war zone were temporarily suspended following the incident.
Israel responded that the volunteers were killed in an unplanned attack. Britain has summoned the Israeli ambassador over the killing of 3 British citizens. It is the first time in 12 years that Britain has summoned the ambassador of friendly country Israel to express its displeasure. In a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has demanded a detailed investigation into the incident.
