British doctor told how to distinguish COVID-19 from the common cold

Doctor Sarah Jarvis from the UK called the difference between a cold and COVID-19. According to her, there are several markers that help diagnose ARVI more accurately.

The specialist noted that the diseases are easy to confuse, they are both very contagious, begin in the upper respiratory tract, can be transmitted through the air or from touching surfaces, and have similar physical symptoms in the form of high fever, body aches, headaches and coughs. That being said, there are 3 signs that indicate a cold, not a coronavirus.

– Runny nose, stuffy nose or sore throat with COVID-19 are rare – these are primarily symptoms of SARS, Said Jarvis.

With a cold, there is also no high fever, prolonged periods of continuous coughing and loss of smell. People with COVID-19 develop at least one of these symptoms.

To strengthen the immune system, the doctor advises eating more fruits and vegetables that provide the body with vitamin C and antioxidants, as well as taking supplements with vitamin D and zinc.
