Britain is being hit by strong winds and thunderstormsas meteorologists warned of dangerous weather in some areas of the country, DPA reported.
A number of events were canceled after the Met Office issued warnings of thunderstorms in Scotland and Northern Ireland, as well as wind warnings across large parts of southern England and South Wales.
The first day of the Goodwood Festival of Speed has been canceled in the first time in its 30-year history.
All eight Royal London parks have closed their playgrounds.
Wimbledon went ahead as planned, although a severe weather warning was issued ahead of the women’s final and organizers closed ticket sales.
Winds are expected to be lighter tomorrow, but parts of northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland will continue to see rain, with a chance of thunder.
