Braže, a candidate for the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs, declared savings of more than 140 thousand euros last year

In the declaration submitted in July of last year, when she assumed the position of ambassador for special tasks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MA), Braže stated that she owns an apartment in Riga and another real estate in Engure parish.

Also, the candidate for the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs owns two cars – 2020 “Volvo XC90” and 2021 “Fiat 500”. It is noted in Braje’s declaration that she also owns financial instruments in the amount of 124,069 euros.

TVNET already wrote that Prime Minister Evika Siliņa (JV) is promoting diplomats Braži to the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Ambassador for Special Assignments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has held various positions in the Foreign Service, including being the Ambassador of Latvia to several countries.

Before becoming the Ambassador for Special Tasks in the summer of 2023, she was the Deputy Secretary General of NATO for Public Diplomacy since May 2020.

Braže received her legal education at the University of Latvia, her master’s degree in social sciences in communication science at the University of Latvia. She also updated her knowledge in the NATO Defense College’s top-level program for generals, admirals and ambassadors.

Silina said that Braže is a “fighter and brave woman”, who has been working in diplomacy since 1993, during which time she has gained extensive international experience. Siliņa Braže’s joining the government is described as a “strong signal” that Latvia thinks about its foreign policy very seriously.
