‘Brabant fake Easter fire stopped earlier due to too many fire reports’ | NOW

In Oirschot in Brabant, a fake Easter fire on top of a church tower was canceled earlier because people thought the church was on fire, it writes Eindhoven Daily.

By means of special technology, red light and show smoke came from the top of the tower of St. Peter’s Basilica. At the same time, music was played on the carillon of the church.

However, emergency services received so many reports of fire that the fire was ‘extinguished’ about half an hour early.

Many reports came from motorists driving along the A58 past the municipality.

The municipality said on Twitter earlier on Saturday evening that the fire was intended as a sign of hope.
