The likeable actress, who studied acting at DAMU and studied it at school in San Diego, California, shined in the trilogy Once Upon a Time and in the movie How to Steal Dagmara. After that, it was as if the ground collapsed after her. It did not happen by her own will, rather by the will of the producers. One day they stopped calling and Petra Martincová remained without offers.
As if they blamed her for falling in love with the director during the filming of Polda Jaroslav Soukup, who was still married at the time. The actress was thus automatically labeled a gold digger and a lady who goes hard for what she wants from the self-proclaimed guardians of morality and the sanctity of marriage.
Martincová, who switched from acting to tourism and works in the hotel business in neighboring Austria, in addition to translating, speaks excellent English, and has proven many times to bad languages that she married Soukup out of love, and not out of calculation. Besides, she had suffered enough in connection with the desire for a child.
“I got pregnant for the first time within two months when I was thirty-two. And over the next two or three years, a miscarriage followed, and it just kept repeating itself. I guess I’m positive by nature and I believed that it would turn out well,” she confided some time ago to the newspaper Aha! Martincová.
But it didn’t work out despite all the efforts. The doctors gave her the sad news that she and her husband were simply not “compatible”. The workaround didn’t help either.
“At my mother’s instigation, we also tried a surrogate mother. Unfortunately, that didn’t work either. It wasn’t the woman’s fault… The fetus was wrong again.” revealed Petra.
“When people see a childless actress, they often think that she sacrificed her chance at motherhood for her career, but they don’t know what she had to go through. I think the key is not to judge people. And that’s one of the reasons why I decided to talk about it openly for the first time,” explained the actress, who appeared alongside her husband in the Nova print at the Červený jelen restaurant.
Needless to say, it looks great. As if a few months had passed since the filming of Polda, and not more than twenty years.
