“The Macedonian-Bulgarian battalion is a group of patriots from the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia ready to defend freedom and world peace,” reads the description of the “volunteer combat unit” on their Facebook page. They claim to be part of the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine and share photos on the social network.
Their official Facebook profile was created on March 18. It is maintained in literary Bulgarian, but some of the publications are in the Macedonian language norm. In an interview shared on the social network, one of the volunteers said he was in Odessa.

“Join the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine. Fight for world peace, stand with the Ukrainians,” reads the first post on the battalion’s FB profile:
You can become a volunteer in the Macedonian-Bulgarian Legion for the Defense of Ukraine if you:
1. You have military experience.
2. You know first hand how to handle weapons.
3. You are confident that you will cope with military and stressful situations.
4. You have a strong will to defend world peace.
5. You are ready to join now.
According to them, in their mission they need: modern combat helmets, modern bulletproof vests, military clothing, night and thermal vision devices, drones (all kinds), smart (smart) sights, encrypted telecommunications devices.
