Board of Directors will consult the TSE on the obligatory nature of the vaccine against COVID-19 among deputies

(CRHoy.com) The Legislative Board will consult the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) on how the obligation of the vaccine against COVID-19 would be applied in the deputies.

The president of Congress, Silvia Hernández Sánchez, said that the consultation will be raised before the electoral body following the directive of the Ministry of Health, on Monday, which indicates the obligation of immunization in the public sector.

Currently, only the National Restoration deputy, Melvin Núñez Piña, is not vaccinated, because as he confirmed weeks ago, he does not believe in said inoculation and even criticized the guideline that will force all public officials to be vaccinated.

At the same time, Hernández said that the criteria will be requested from the Legal Directorate of Congress to know how to proceed with legislative officials who do not want to be vaccinated.

Unofficially, it is said that there are 121 officials of the Legislative Assembly who have not been vaccinated, including Deputy Núñez, advisers to congressmen and administrative personnel.

Hernández said that next week when these two criteria are met, a decision will be made on how to proceed with officials who do not want to be vaccinated.

At the beginning of this week, Congress carried out a vaccination campaign in its facilities, but only 4 people came to get the dose.
