Black Mesa Developers Announces Half-Life Remake Full Release Date

After 14 years of development, the developers at Crowbar Collective have finally completed a rethinking of the original Half-Life. Black Mesa 1.0 will be released on Steam next week on March 5, the game development team announced.

In a new post on Steam, the host of the project, Adam Engels, shared the news and writes about the long development of the game:

Thanks to luck, hard work and, perhaps, a little ignorance, we did not shy away from our goal to bring this game to the end. We are proud of what we created. We think this upcoming release 1.0 is the best, most honed and funniest version of the game. The expectation and excitement around our project is beyond praise.

Black Mesa is a video game, our video game, which has both its strengths and weaknesses. As Leonardo da Vinci said: “Art never ends, it is left behind,” and although we plan to fully support this game after 1.0 with bug fixes and more, it will never be an ideal game.

Black Mesa 1.0 will be available on Steam March 5, 2020.
