BJP Leader Suresh Gopi Questioned by Police in Media Worker Misbehavior Case in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: The questioning of film star and BJP leader Suresh Gopi in the case of misbehaving with a media worker has been completed. After questioning, Suresh Gopi was released by the Nadakavan police after issuing a notice under Section 41C. The police informed that no arrest was made.

Suresh Gopi, who reached the police station at 11.50, was questioned at 12.15. The interrogation took place in a special interrogation room at the station. Investigating Officer SI Binu Mohan, DCP K.E. Baiju, ACP Bijuraj and CI Gijesh supervised the interrogation.

A case was registered against Suresh Gopi under section 354A of the IPC for indecently behaving towards a journalist. The police had sent a notice to Suresh Gopi asking him to appear before 18.

The relevant incident took place on 27th of last month. Suresh Gopi insulted the MediaOne Special Correspondent when he was taking bait for news in front of KPM Trisenda Hotel in Kozhikode. Suresh Gopi put his hand on the shoulder of the journalist who asked the question. Then they moved away, but when the question was raised again, they put their hands on their shoulders again. With this, the media worker had to change hands.

Then the journalist filed a complaint with the city police commissioner demanding that a case be filed against Suresh Gopi who insulted womanhood and behaved with bad intentions. As the incident happened within the limits of Nadakav station, the complaint was handed over to Nadakav police.
