Beware of these foods, they are prohibited and poisonous

There are not only Covid-19 and the next seasonal flu, among the serious health dangers from which we must defend ourselves, this Autumn. There are also poisonous foods, lurking in supermarkets, shops and restaurants. The Ministry of Health issued, between August and September, a flurry of measures for the withdrawal of products that we usually eat, such as seafood salad, salami, ravioli. But there are very few people who go shopping, informed on time.

There is information and very detailed photographs of prohibited and dangerous foods that must be gradually withdrawn from the market. What gets on our plate in restaurants, we cannot control. But we must not underestimate the ailments, especially if collective. And go get checked. Instead, we can shop with our eyes open: checking that the banned products are not yet, by mistake or distraction, on the shelves of the supermarket or in the small neighborhood grocery store. But other checks are needed on purchases in the gym, at the beauty center and via the internet: food supplements are another territory full of banned substances.

The poison cart

Beware of these foods, they are prohibited and poisonous. Mussels and crustaceans, cured meats, cheeses, food supplements, ravioli, even chocolate. Biotoxins beyond the limits in mussels, pieces of plastic in bars, sausages and salami with salmonella, borage ravioli filled with viral agents. The shelves of supermarkets, but also those of discount stores have been affected by an urgent recall of these and other products. Transformed and distributed by small businesses but also by authoritative multinationals.

We only went to peek at those banned between August and September: but the last week, that of the reopening of schools and offices, was a war bulletin. The commercial signs where these products have been traced, following illnesses reported by hospitals, are highly respected. To withdraw the poisonous products for humans were the Ministry of Health, following reports arriving from the ASL. But also the same producers who are recalling the batches discovered infected or suspected, due to bad conservation.

Dangerous food supplements

Also from the pages of the Ministry, we learn that in numerous web portals supplements containing prohibited ingredients, declared dangerous even at European level, are sold. Behind cryptic brands such as Hydroxycut Hardcore Next Gen and Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite 110 Muscletech, conceal mixtures containing Yohimbe or Yohimbine, substances prohibited by the European legislation pursuant to Reg. 1925/2006 in food. There are several formulations of these supplements, some of these do not carry them on the label, while others do. Many supplements are sold by word of mouth among young people in beauty salons and gyms. Therefore “consumers are advised not to purchase these or other products that declare or advertise the presence of Yohimbe or Yohimbine and to refrain from consuming them”.
