The non-stop connection to New York/Newark has been an integral part of the flight offer from Berlin since 2005. Long-haul routes were initially served by Continental Airlines from Berlin-Tegel, but since 2010 they have been flown by United as a result of the merger of the two airlines. The connection, which has been suspended since 2020 due to the corona pandemic, will now start again in 2022.
