Benny Mardones, singer of the hit “Into the Night” died

American singer Benny Mardones, composer of the eighties success “Into the Night”, died at the age of 73 from complications of Parkinson’s disease.

Mardones was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of a Chilean father. The singer only spent a couple of occasions with his father before leaving him when he was still a baby and returning to Chile.

Enrolled in the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War. Upon her return, she decided to move to New York to pursue a career in music.

In the late 1970s, Mardones began his musical career with shows and his first study materials, without much recognition.

That, until in 1980 he released “Never Run, Never Hide”, his most praised work and which included the successful ballad “Into the Night”., song that reached the 11th position of the most listened to by Billboard in the United States
