Ben Adams: – – Absolutely ridiculously tiring

Sold after one day

When Dagbladet spoke to the artist in June, he could tell that he and his fiancé have spent a lot of time renovating, and that at that time they were in the final phase of the renovation project in the apartment at Frogner in Oslo west.

On Wednesday, Adams shared on the story function on Instagram that they have now sold the apartment, and that after only one day:

– It was absolutely fantastic, in fact. We had a renovation project in the apartment under the corona, so we put it out, and it was sold immediately, he says to Dagbladet.

He says that the buyer had contacted the real estate agent to arrange a private viewing, and bought the apartment afterwards. It was thus sold right after the ad appeared on Finn.no.

However, they have been responsible for the renovation themselves, apart from a little professional help here and there. But when Skjoldnes became pregnant, Adams had to take over the helm of the renovation ship:

– I have become quite handy, so we got professionals to do something, but I did most of it myself. I drifted and knocked down walls and everything, so at one point we didn’t have walls in the bathroom. And there was a period when we had to use toilets in cafes and restaurants, but they were closed due to lockdown – so it was not that easy, the 39-year-old recalls.

Earned millions

Adams says that the apartment they sold originally belonged to Skjoldnes. However, the couple has made good money on the renovation, and the artist can reveal that after the apartment sale, they were left with a profit of around two million kroner.

– Renovation has become a hobby, we like to do it. In addition, the British government did nothing to support artists during the pandemic, and I did not just want to sit on the couch and watch TV – so then there was renovation, says Adams.

Also his house in London, which was bought by a fan, was refurbished before sale. It ended with a profit of no less than six million kroner.

– It’s a decent hobby, he says jokingly.

Immediately, the family will move into their new apartment, which is just a stone’s throw away from the one they just sold. It seems that Skjoldnes / Adams has found the dream home.

– Ridiculously tiring

The couple became parents this autumn, and for most people, renovation chaos and a newborn baby may sound like a rather tiring combination. Adams can confirm this:

– It has been ridiculously tiring. It started with Sara and I doing it together, and then we thought we could do it together again after she had the baby – but it does not work, someone has to take care of the baby!

But even though there is a lot to do and it will be a few hours on the eye, Adams thrives very well as the father of little Skylar.

– It’s absolutely beautiful. Last night she did not sleep at all and I was very tired, but when I was going to get myself a coffee I saw her with the biggest smile and then I just thought ‘it’s okay, you can do what you want’, says the newly in love father of young children.

– At least three Christmas trees

The artist says that they have recently had family from London, where he himself is from, visiting all the time because everyone wants to meet the little girl. After a year and a half of canceled concerts, the artist is also back on stage – so it is, to put it mildly, a busy everyday life.

– I’m on day trips in England to play concerts. It’s totally sick, one day I was awake for 40 hours to go to London and back. But it’s definitely worth it.

– Finally it was our turn

Now, however, Christmas is approaching, and then the boy band artist has decided to take time off. Then a quiet holiday awaits in what will be their new home, and also Skylar’s first Christmas. But the 39-year-old does not completely put the British Christmas away.

– When we lived in London, we had a Christmas tree that was well over four meters high. We do not have room for that here, so I will have at least three Christmas trees to compensate for that, he concludes.
