Protests in Belarus. Brutal interventions by OMON, detention of journalists
Belarusian journalist and activist Franak Vyachorka reports on Twitter that the militia is armed with rifles. “It seems that Lukashenka he wants to escalate the situation rather than find a solution “- he wrote. In the next entry, the journalist posted a video in which we see an officer pounding and kicking one of the protesters. Vyachorka also informs about the use of roaring grenades and tear gas by the police.
Protesters will be arrested by the KGB, where political prisoners are being held. On Saturday Alyaksandr Lukashenka met in custody with some of them. It is not known what exactly was the content of the conversation. This was quite an unexpected event, interpreted by some commentators as a signal from Alyaksandr Lukashenka that he allowed the possibility of negotiating with the opposition.
