In connection with the increase in military activity near the external borders, it was decided to continue checking the response forces of the Union State

Major-General Viktor Gulevich, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, said that units of the Russian Armed Forces would return to their permanent deployment points only when there is an objective need for this. Writes about it zerkalo.io with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.

“In connection with the increase in military activity near the external borders of the Union State and the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass, it was decided to continue checking the reaction forces of the Union State. The units of the Russian Armed Forces will return to their points of permanent deployment only when there is an objective need for this, and when we We will decide for ourselves. This is purely our internal affair,” Gulevich said.

According to him, this will also largely depend on Western colleagues, whose forces and means were deployed near the Belarusian border.

“The Republic of Belarus has the right to demand the withdrawal of the created groupings of US troops and individual NATO member countries from the borders of the Republic of Belarus and the Union State, and to ensure control of the withdrawal of troops by verification measures,” the general noted.

Recall that the Allied Resolve exercises were supposed to end on February 20, but Russia and Belarus decided “continue checking troops.”
