On 18 September Beatrice of York and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi became parents. Until now they have never shown any pictures of their little girl, even keeping her name a secret. Now that a few days have passed, however, they surprised by sharing a first image of their daughter on social media and, above all, by revealing what they decided to call her: it is a tribute to Queen Elizabeth.
Beatrice of York, daughter’s name revealed
The imprint of the feet. This is the first snapshot shown by Beatrice and Edoardo of their little girl. The princess was the first to share it on social media, precisely on Twitter, and was subsequently also taken up by the official channels of the Royal Family. Through the post, the two parents also announced the baby’s name: Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi.
Beatrice and Edoardo thus wanted to retrace the path taken by Harry and Meghan, who by choosing the name for their little girl, Lilibet Diana, have openly paid homage to Queen Elizabeth. The Princess, daughter of the third child of the sovereign and Sarah Ferguson, also said to be in excellent health. She then referred to Wolfie, her husband’s son, born of a previous relationship, who is proving to be a perfect big brother to little Sienna Elizabeth.
The tender words of Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi
Always extremely reserved, on this special occasion Edoardo also wanted to have his say and, on Instragam, he has publicly thanked the midwives and hospital staff of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, which they gave birth his daughter and they took care of his wife Beatrice.
With great tenderness, Edoardo, who has Italian origins, indulged in sweet words that perfectly describe the happiness that reigns in the family:
Our life together has just begun and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things that await us. I feel so much love and gratitude for my amazing wife, little Sienna and Wolfie. These are the days I never want to forget.
The name chosen by Beatrice is, without a shadow of a doubt, a welcome surprise for the Queen Elizabeth. Also his twelfth great-granddaughter bears his name. The little girl, however, will not have a real title: will the Sovereign, to thank for the gift, decide to grant her a title?
