Today, on the afternoon of June 29, very heavy thunderstorms and possible heavy grain hail are expected in some places in the east of Latvia, informs the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center (LVDMC).
“In the afternoon and evening in the eastern part in some areas thunderstorms with very heavy rains and strong wind gusts of 15-17 m / s are expected. Large-grained hail is also possible, “
announced by LVDMC.
We call on drivers to be prepared for a strong thunderstorm. LVC reports that there will be possible strong gusts of wind, hail and rain, which will cause a rapid rise in water levels and flooding of the area. Broken tree branches or trees, unfixed objects or debris will be carried through the air. Property damage, disrupted traffic and outdoor activities are expected.
