Basketball, 2nd Bundesliga play-offs: Falcons Bad Homburg – BBZ Opladen (women). Due to the clear 40:61 defeat in the first leg, the chances of progressing – and thus also of promotion to the first Bundesliga – have receded into the distant future for the Opladen women. “It really wasn’t a good game for us. But we’re not sticking our heads in the sand and we’ll do everything we can to still win the second leg. Ideally, we can do that with a difference of 22 points. That has happened many times in basketball,” emphasizes trainer Grit Schneider, who is meticulously preparing her team for the second comparison on Saturday (4 p.m.).

Schneider and her players came up with something tactically, and there was also a lot of throwing practice. “We won’t deliver a second game with such a bad shooting rate and we’re going into the encounter optimistically,” emphasizes the practice provider, who can send her best cast into the race. According to Schneider, a lot depends on the start of the second duel. If you give the opponent a few tasks in this phase and maybe take the lead yourself, there is still a lot to do. “In games like this, your head is crucial. Maybe we’ll manage to cause uncertainty again. My team definitely has the quality to do it. We won’t give up, we’ll throw everything in and then see what’s possible,” says the trainer.
