At the end of June, BILD revealed that the record champions and Qatar Airways were not renewing the sponsorship contract. There is currently no successor for the sleeve sponsor. That’s why the people of Munich want to use the area on the jersey for a good cause: According to SPORT BILD information, Bayern Munich plans to print the statement “Red against racism” there until a new partner is found. A strong action!

Again and again fan protests against Qatar Airways
FC Bayern and the airline decided in June to end the cooperation. It was an amicable separation after the end of the contract period.
The airline has been the club’s official partner since July 1, 2018. The sponsorship is said to have brought Bayern 25 million euros per year. Since the beginning of the commitment, however, there had always been criticism of Bayern – including from their own fan ranks. The reason for this is the controversial human rights situation in Qatar.
► In 2021, the general meeting escalated because of the topic. There was tumult, boos and anger over supporters’ Qatar proposals. After the event in the Audi Dome, Honorary President Uli Hoeneß (71) pestered Qatar Ober critic Michael Ott: “Your appearance was embarrassing! This is the Bayern Munich football club and not the Amnesty International General Assembly!”
︎ In the past three years there have always been posters in the Allianz Arena against the involvement of the state airline from Qatar. In September 2022, for example, the south curve said: “State visits, training camps, thousands of dead for World Cup celebrations. Only your own conscience is better off, Uli H.!”
