1983. Homicide – Obermenzing

On the evening of Sunday, December 27th, 2020, a subtenant found the lifeless landlady in the crime scene property. The emergency services, who were immediately notified, could only determine the death of the 66-year-old woman. The injuries found indicated a homicide, which was confirmed by the autopsy carried out on Monday, December 28, 2020. Since the discovery, extensive forensic measures have been carried out by the Munich criminal police.

The victim is the Serbian German Mira Kostov, who lived alone in her house, but sublet several rooms (mostly to people from her country of birth).

However, the current sub-tenants were not in the house over the Christmas holidays.

1984. Operations by the Munich police in the context of the corona pandemic

In the period from Monday, December 28, 2020, 6:00 a.m. to Tuesday, December 29, 2020, 6:00 a.m., there were a large number of controls and operations in the area of ​​responsibility of the Munich Police Headquarters (both city and district of Munich) Check compliance with current infection control regulations. Over 1,000 controls were carried out during this period. 96 violations were reported. In 25 cases it was about the curfew.

On Monday, December 28th, 2020, around 1:45 p.m., a reporter called the police emergency number 110 and informed that he had seen several young people standing together on Verdistraße and had the impression that they were consuming narcotics.

Several patrols were sent to the site and met over ten people who were in a house that was currently empty. Eleven people were reported for violating the exit restrictions. Narcotics were found in one person and this violation of the Narcotics Act was reported. Then they had to leave the place.

On Monday, December 28th, 2020, around 7:00 p.m., officers from Police Inspection 16 (Hauptbahnhof) discovered that there were several people in a building on Bayerstraße who were clearly celebrating with each other. They consumed alcohol and listened to loud music. They did not wear any masks and did not keep the minimum distances to each other.

The celebration ended and people were checked. 18 violations of the infection control regulations were reported. After the ad was processed, everyone present had to leave the location.

1985. Car driver drives without a license – Großhadern

On Sunday, December 27th, 2020, around 00:30 a.m., a patrol of the Munich police noticed a Fiat car on Fürstenrieder Strasse, the driver of which repeatedly drove serpentine lines or braked abruptly. Due to this driving behavior, the car was stopped a short time later at the intersection of Fürstenrieder Straße / Meier-Helmbrecht-Straße and subjected to a check.

It was found that the driver, a 25-year-old from Munich, does not have a valid driver’s license. For this reason, the continued journey was prevented and the vehicle key secured. Since the 25-year-old had previously shown abnormal driving behavior, he was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine to have a blood drawn.

In addition to the 25-year-old, there were also a 19-year-old woman from Munich and a 45-year-old woman from Munich in the vehicle. The 25-year-old stated that the reason for the late trip was that he wanted to drive the 19-year-old passenger, who was pregnant, to the hospital. Because of this, an ambulance was called for the 19-year-old.

When the 25-year-old showed up at the police station the next day to pick up the vehicle keys, after consulting with the vehicle owner, it turned out that she had insisted on returning her vehicle since the beginning of December. The 25-year-old did not comply.

He was reported for embezzling the vehicle, driving without a license and being drunk in traffic. A violation according to the Infection Protection Act will be examined.

The Munich traffic police have taken over the investigation.

On Wednesday, February 12th, 2020, between 6:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., a 60-year-old from the Munich district noticed that both garage doors of her house in Grasbrunn, which were previously closed, were now open. After inspecting the garage, she discovered that several vehicle wheels had been stolen from it. She then called the police emergency number 110.

The value of the nine stolen bikes is several thousand euros.

Among other things, the police carried out forensic evidence on site. One of the traces examined now showed a hit after a comparison with the police data at the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office. The suspect is therefore a 31-year-old Romanian who, according to current knowledge, is in Romania.

The police station 55 has taken over the investigation.

1987. Burglary in the restaurant – Maxvorstadt

On Monday, December 28th, 2020, from 00:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., one or more previously unknown perpetrators were able to forcibly gain access to the premises of a restaurant on Heßstrasse.

They stole electronic devices and cash with a total value of several hundred euros. Then the unknown perpetrator or perpetrators left the premises.

1988. New head of the Central Psychological Service of the Bavarian Police (ZPD)

At the turn of the year, the head of the ZPD, LRD Dr. Hans Peter Schmalzl, into retirement. The previous head of the operations center, PD Ulrich Rothdauscher, will now be his successor.

The ZPD started its work in 1964 as the first psychological service of a German police force in the Munich police force. It was founded in the aftermath of and as a consequence of the “Schwabing Riots” with the aim of advising the police leadership on all fundamental psychological issues, improving the police’s ability to deal better with social expectations and needs and dealing with police operations through psychological expertise to support.

Today the ZPD is an integral part and an indispensable element of the entire Bavarian police force. The ZPD provides psychological operational and investigative support and also makes a very important contribution to personnel selection within the framework of organizational psychology. In addition, the ZPD also offers the necessary psychosocial care, especially when police officers on duty or privately have been confronted with stressful or traumatic experiences.

As the head of the operations center, he acted as the top coordinator for dealing with the daily operational situation in the city and in the district of Munich with an average of 1,000 operations every day.

Ulrich Rothdauscher has been with the Munich Police Headquarters since 1991 and has worked here in a wide variety of areas in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th qualification level. He has headed the operations center since 2016 and before that he was responsible for the police in Neuhausen for several years. During his time at the operations center, he initiated and accompanied important processes in the content and organizational development of the area of ​​”managing immediate situations”. The Munich police have thus also learned important lessons from their large-scale operation at the 2016 Olympic shopping center.
