Pedro Gonzalez Lopez (Pedri) led his team, Barcelona, to crown the winter champion in the Spanish Football League, after defeating Girona 1/0 during the match that brought them together today, Saturday, in the nineteenth round of the competition, which also witnessed Cadiz’s victory over Real Mallorca 2/0.
Pedri scored the only goal of the match in the 61st minute, to give Barcelona the title of winter champion, regardless of the outcome of the Real Madrid and Real Sociedad match, which will be held tomorrow, Sunday.
Barcelona strengthened its lead in the ranking table with 47 points, by six points against Real Madrid, while Girona’s balance stopped at 21 points in twelfth place.
In the second match, Cadiz defeated Real Mallorca 2-0.
Cadiz’s goals were scored by Theo Bongonda in the 10th minute and Alejandro Fernandez in the 38th minute from a penalty kick.
Cadiz raised its score to 19 points in the fifteenth place, and Real Mallorca’s balance stopped at 25 points in the tenth place.
