There has been a lot of talk lately about the future of Barbara D’Urso in Mediaset, even speculating on his eventual dismissal. The contract of the well-known host with Mediaset it expires, in fact, on 31 December 2022 and someone had rumored about his probable resignation.
The presenter herself had denied these rumors by revealing how things actually were. Let’s see, therefore, what happened in reality.
Barbara D’Urso and the future of La Pupa and the Nerdy
As everyone knows Barbara D’Urso this year led The pupa and the nerd show, on Italia 1, overturning the format mechanism.
The program, however, did not receive very satisfactory ratings and Mediaset seems not to have appreciated the conductive line of the presenter.
Many viewers, in fact, did not appreciate the dynamics of the program too similar to those closed previously.
The first episode did not receive exciting ratings and in the following ones there was a disastrous drop in share.
For the moment, therefore, it is difficult for Mediaset to decide to re-propose the show also in the next television season.
Barbara D’Urso he will continue to work for the company, but will only be running one program and no longer three or four as in previous years. It is obviously not excluded that things can change over time: Mediaset, in fact he might decide to entrust her with other work projects.
Just like it happened this year, when the D’Urso received the proposal to lead The Pupa and the Nerdy Show.
Mediaset: what will Barbara D’Urso do next year?
It just looks like that Barbara D’Urso will extend his contract. With Mediaset also for the 2022/2023 season.
According to next year’s schedules Lady Cologno will continue to lead Afternoon 5 and the format will remain unchanged. The afternoon program should maintain the same airtime, starting 5:25 pm and ending before the early evening quiz.
The broadcast will therefore continue in a reduced edition, as in the last season. For the moment it seems that this is the only assignment proposed to the D’Urso.

Other broadcasts such as Sunday Live– it’s not there D’Urso, seem not to be included in the schedules of Mediaset. In the past, the two programs have occupied the Sunday afternoon of Canale 5 and the evening of the same day.
Some rumors have spoken of a co-conduct of Afternoon 5 with Barbara D’Urso and Simona Brachetti, the journalist who replaced her in the winter.
