It is worth making Christmas transfers in advance or using instant transfers – reminds the National Clearing House (KIR). On December 24, the clearing systems will operate to a limited extent, and no transactions will be made on subsequent public holidays.

The Clearing House informs in the Monday’s announcement that on public holidays and weekends, transactions in session systems are not processed, therefore the Elixir system will operate to a limited extent during the Christmas period. On Christmas Eve, 24 December (Friday), there will be two clearing sessions, and on the first and second days of holidays, no transactions will be settled.

Transfers during the Christmas and New Year period. Hours and days

According to KIR, transfers ordered on Christmas Eve after 13.30 will be settled during the morning session of Monday 27 December. In turn, transactions ordered on December 31 (Friday) after 1.30 p.m. will be executed on Monday, January 3, 2022.

In the case of Euro Elixir – the system for settling transfers in the EU currency (domestic and cross-border), all clearing sessions will be held on 24 and 31 December. For this system, the following settlement days during the holiday breaks are December 27 this year, respectively. and January 3, 2022

Regardless of the availability of the session settlement systems operated by KIR, the Express Elixir instant payments system remains at the disposal of bank customers. The system works around the clock, all year round, also on weekends and holidays. It allows you to transfer funds between accounts in different banks.

Elixir is an electronic interbank clearing system for transactions in PLN. They are settled during one of the three sessions on business days, at 9:30 am, 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm. The system does not process any transactions on public holidays and weekends.
