Definitely a bitter evening for the Italians in the Euroleague. Olimpia defeated at the Forum by Zalgiris, while Virtus lost their third consecutive match away at Bayern Munich. An excellent performance from Shields wasn’t enough for the Messina team: the Lithuanians played a great game, shot very well from three (11/21), and won with merit, resisting Olimpia’s comeback attempt, which suffered its seventh defeat of the season. Banchi’s boys, after an excellent start, succumbed to the blows of Ibaka who led the Germans to a perfect second half: the 20-10 run in the last quarter condemned Bologna to their fourth defeat of this Euroleague.
