Alexia, how do you feel after receiving this trophy?
It’s amazing to win this trophy. It took sacrifices to be here. And my family had to do it too. I feel a lot of things. I am privileged to be here and to represent so many people. I’m sure I won’t be the last Barca player to receive it. This is just the beginning.

What does this trophy mean for Spanish women’s football?
It means a lot of things, I hope. In Barcelona, there is a real project and the success has followed. There are no excuses why not everyone does the same. We must have good conditions to work. And not just a few clubs. All teams in the League.
What would be your advice for young girls who want to be footballers?
They have to believe in themselves and fight to become footballers. I think the world has a responsibility to do whatever is possible so that children can follow their dream of becoming a footballer, regardless of their skin color or gender.

How did you and FC Barcelona grow up?
I think the turning point was the Champions League final lost against Lyon in 2010. It was the best defeat of my career because it made us grow. After that, we wanted to be excellent every day.
Are you going to have more pressure with this trophy?
The Ballon d’Or is not going to put more pressure on me. I’m the one putting the most pressure on myself. Expectations off the pitch are things I can’t control. I will try to help my partners as much as possible.
