There are good drivers and bad drivers. Knowing which group someone belongs to isn’t that complicated. All you have to do is look at your driving style and driving behavior, and within minutes it is clear if a person drives well and correctly, or if they would benefit from fitness racing. But beware, even a good driver can make a series of mistakes that destroy his car. Which ones are they?
Wrong order
If you have a car with an automatic gearbox, you don’t have to face gearbox problems. The electronics will ensure that the car shifts correctly. In the case of the manual, however, we have everything in our hands. And what are the main mistakes? Either by overloading the engine almost to the red numbers, or, on the contrary, by causing it to drop in revs. Neither engine is good in the long run and is a way to unnecessarily shorten its lifespan.
Standing on the pedals
It goes without saying that when we drive, we have to operate the pedals. Gas, brake and, in the case of a car with a manual, also a clutch. But being on the pedals is a mistake when standing for a long time. Staying on the brake for a long time can put unnecessary strain on the braking system. It is much better to shift into neutral and use the handbrake. However, a number of drivers often also stand on the clutch, for example at traffic lights. This is also a way to damage the car, for example to damage the DMF.
Bad guess
Having a quote in the car is very important. In modern ones the problems of motorists already help to eliminate parking sensors or various cameras. However, it is good to rely on yourself to some extent. Those who do not have the correct estimate will destroy their own car and sometimes another car as well. Typical problems are various scratches on the paint or perhaps on the wheel discs. The basis of a good estimate is not only experience, but also a good view from the car and adjusted rear view mirrors.
Ride in reserve
Even if fuel prices are high, it is not recommended to leave only a few liters in the tank and drive with reserve. There are many other problems related to this that can have a negative effect on your car. The less fuel there is in the tank, the greater the concentration of impurities in it. Also, let’s not forget about possible condensation: water that can dilute the fuel. Both problems can be minimized with a sufficient amount of diesel or gasoline.
