NEW YORK – An outbreak of the listeria bacterium has affected several states, including New York and New Jersey, where it has been found in cheeses and meats sold in grocery stores.
One person died from the outbreak and one woman lost her pregnancy.
More than a dozen cases have been reported across the nation. Most of them are related to sausages.
So far, New York has the most cases with seven. While in New Jersey he filed a case.
The outbreak strain, according to the CDC, was found in cured and sliced ham, as well as salami.
The diseases occurred from April 2021 to September 29 of this year.
