“Back to the old normal!” – The Daily Standard

There are very different reactions from the right side of the political spectrum to the announcement of a devious Dutch celebrity who says that they will stop adhering to corona measures under the heading ‘#ikdoenietmeermee’. FVD has a lot of understanding for the action, VVD party chairman Dijkhoff thinks that their action is not possible.

Forum for Democracy demands that the cabinet do everything in its power to prevent a second lockdown. The party says this in response to various celebrities, including Famke Louise and Tim Douwsma, with which FVD says’to sympathize‘:

“We sympathize with these artists, whose lives – just like that of millions of Dutch people – have now been forced to pause. Cabinet must take this seriously. Clear signal: no new lockdown, no further restriction of freedom, but back to the old normal! ”

However, they do not get that much understanding from VVD party chairman Klaas Dijkhoff, who says in a reaction that it is also possible for artists “bad times“, But” a deadly virus is not a game you can stop for a while. ” Dijkhoff also immediately introduces his own hashtag: “#Coronadoetwelmee” Dijkhoff himself, he says in another tweet.

This is a firm reprimand from the FVD senate faction to the House of Representatives. Nicki Pouw-Verweij believes that Dijkhoff has other interests does not weigh well against the value of health:

“Klaas, the flu is also deadly for certain groups. Our objections are about proportionality. I am concerned about all the elderly who have not been visited for months. All companies that go bankrupt. All the depressions, the blows in the culture sector. Do you also think about that? ”

Given that FVD is in the opposition and the VVD in the government, the two parties will continue to fight each other on the point of the corona virus for the time being. Not that the celebrities are the only concern: they no longer participate.
