Bachelor Thomas causes sudden departure from the women

Thomas lacks the physical attraction with Yaël, Inge and Ascha. Time is running out, so he takes the women to couples yoga to see if the spark really does fly. Even before the date is well and truly over, it is Yaël who can pack her bags. Thomas takes her aside to say he doesn’t want to give her a rose.

“It’s getting more and more difficult for me to make choices. But I do want to be honest with you. Is it in it, or is it not in it? Am I going to investigate it longer or am I going to string you along?” Thomas begins, after which he brings the bad news. “Then I don’t think it’s in that way. I wanted to tell you that myself and not just at the rose ceremony.”

Yaël is not very sad about her early exit. “I didn’t see it coming now, but I have to say I’ve said more than once that I don’t feel the chemistry and attraction myself. So it’s actually nice that we both felt that way.”

That the bachelor sends someone home on a date – and doesn’t wait for the rose ceremony – shocks the remaining ladies. The news is especially hard on Inge, a good friend of Yaël.

“I’m really going to miss you. How can this be?” she wonders aloud. “I think in the end this was a good decision from Thomas, but I find it very difficult. (…) We discuss everything together and now my buddy is gone.”
