Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that most of the imports of weapons go to Russia, not Turkey and Israel. Iran, Ukraine and Belarus are also supplying weapons to Azerbaijan.
Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan intends to “restore territorial integrity” with the help of modern weapons.
However, “the territories are liberated by soldiers”, not drones.
Aliyev believes that there is nothing strange in the fact that Baku buys weapons in many countries, because not so many powers “can provide themselves 100 percent with military equipment.”
The President of Azerbaijan accused Armenia of constantly violating the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, which is why the parties cannot sit down at the negotiating table.
“If they stop today, we will stop too, and diplomats will continue to work,” Aliyev said.
Otherwise, Aliyev assured, “we will go to the end.”
In Baku, they believe that the Armenian leader Nikol Pashinyan, after coming to power, thwarted a long-term negotiation process. For two years there were no meetings on the Nagorno-Karabakh problem.
But now, Aliyev is sure, the Armenian leadership will have to reckon with the new reality – the line of demarcation no longer exists, the status quo no longer exists.
The Azerbaijani President denied the participation of Turkey or the military of third countries in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
There is no evidence for this, Aliyev said.
Since the beginning of the fighting in the disputed region, Turkey has provided only political support to Azerbaijan.
As Aliyev assured, Azerbaijan does not need help from soldiers, since it has a regular army of one hundred thousand.
The President of Azerbaijan is sure that with the help of fakes they want to present his country as an aggressor “to lower the potential of the Azerbaijani army.”
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Azerbaijan’s air defense forces interrupted the flight of an Armenian army strike drone in the Jabrayil region.
