As the police announced in the afternoon, there was an attack on a 67-year-old man in the town hall on Karrasstraße in Coswig near Dresden on Thursday morning at around 10:55 a.m.
According to the investigators’ initial information, a 35-year-old appeared at the local Citizens’ Office together with the later victim to apply for an ID card.
The situation then escalated in an office: the woman hit her friend several times with an ax, seriously injuring him.

The German was overwhelmed on the spot and then held until the alarmed police arrived.
“The relationship between the two is still completely unclear,” it said when asked by TAG24. It was expressly not an employee of the authority.
The public prosecutor’s office and the police are now investigating the background to the crime and the exact course of events.

After the incident, City Hall will remain closed this Thursday.
