LONDON – Vaccines for HIV have begun to be injected into participants as part of a phase one clinical trial. This vaccine is the result of the work of researchers at the University of Oxford, England, which has been waiting for 40 years.
Phase one clinical trials launched on Monday.
According to the university, a clinical trial called HIV-CORE 0052 aims to evaluate the safety, tolerability and immunogenicity of the HIVconsvX vaccine.

This project is part of the European Aids Vaccine Initiative, which is funded by the European Commission.
Jab this is known as a “mosaic”, meaning it can target multiple variants of HIV-1 and has the potential to be a suitable vaccine for use worldwide.
