INSEE has just made public the results of the last census. In 2018, it was the small villages of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes that attracted the most new inhabitants.
Assessment: large agglomerations such as Lyon, Saint Etienne or Clermont-Ferrand continue to see their population grow, thanks above all to a positive natural balance (more births than deaths). But the municipalities that gain the most inhabitants are villages such as Aix-la-Fayette in the Puy-de-Dôme (+ 7% in 5 years), Grézieu-le-Fromental in the Loire (+ 9%) or even Chévry in the Ain (+ 7%). And this time it’s thanks to new arrivals.
