A Koblenz pharmacy has called the supervisory authority into action with homeopathic beads against Corona. The sale was banned.
The pharmacist said she had used leftovers from vaccination doses at a vaccination center. The product was “blocked” as a precaution, announced the Rhineland-Palatinate State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Supply as the pharmacy supervisor on Friday. Check whether “drug law or other regulations have been violated”.
On the website of the Koblenzer Schloss-Apotheke read: “We have Pfizer / BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine in potentized form up to D30 as globules or dilution (for discharge) in stock.” On Friday this sentence disappeared from the homepage.
The pharmacy manager told the dpa that she had by no means sold homeopathic corona vaccines. There are no effective vaccines of this type. According to their information, only an additional “mini drop” of the original Biontech vaccine was highly potentiated or prepared homeopathically as globules.
“Not scientifically proven”
According to the pharmacist, who has already administered corona vaccinations, should work better and more correctly with this supplementary product, if possible without developing side effects. She admitted: “But that is not scientifically proven.” The product was only manufactured individually on customer request and was sold less than a dozen times in the past few weeks. According to Eichele, ten grams of these globules cost around 15 euros.
Doctors and naturopaths would have asked their pharmacy specializing in homeopathy about such a product. According to the state office, the apotherkin said that after opening the vaccination doses, which would otherwise have been thrown in the garbage, she took small residual amounts from the vaccination center in Koblenz and from an old people’s home to the pharmacy. “We didn’t do anything bad, we just wanted to help people,” said the pharmacist. Finally, there was a shit storm against her pharmacy on social media.
A spokesman for the pharmacy said that all buyers of the globules would be informed to be on the safe side that they were only an additional offer and in no way replaced a vaccine. Nobody should mistakenly believe that they have been vaccinated – and not at all.
State office commissions the city to test
State Office President Detlef Placzek has asked the Mayor of Koblenz, David Langner (SPD), as the person responsible for the vaccination center, to examine the matter and “take appropriate measures” at his own discretion.
According to the state office, there are no indications “that the material used for the production of homeopathic medicines is a Covid-19 vaccine that can still be administered”.
Placzek said he had never seen a case like this in Rhineland-Palatinate. “Faith is stronger than reason.”
