The local authorities of Béni Mellal-Khénifra have stepped up prevention and awareness-raising operations among the population as to the need to respect the precautionary rules and the safety and hygiene measures in order to contain the spread of the Covid-pandemic. 19.
In this sense, a cell was created on Tuesday at the regional hospital of Béni Mellal, with the aim of ensuring the distribution of 100 protective masks for the benefit of each person confirmed positive for Covid-19, in a manner to prevent the spread of the virus among relatives of infected people.
Among the measures initiated in the face of the increase in confirmed positive cases of the new coronavirus (Covid-19), there is also the distribution of protective masks for the benefit of low-income people from disadvantaged areas of the city which have recorded an upsurge worrying about the number of people infected.
In vulnerable neighborhoods, a vast operation to distribute protective masks has been initiated for the benefit of needy families, an operation that will continue in the coming days with the contribution of auxiliaries of the authority to stop the spread of this pandemic, which has experienced an upsurge in recent days on the occasion of Eid al Adha.
In the same context, the local authorities have adopted numerous precautionary measures, in particular the reinforcement of the control and security points at the levels of the various entrances to the city to verify the identity and measure the temperature of the new arrivals, in addition to the closure of hammams, hairdressing and beauty salons, games rooms and nearby stadiums until August 30.
The closing times for cafes and stores have been set at 6:00 p.m. and those for supermarkets at 8:00 p.m., while the markets have been set for 2:00 p.m.
Local authorities in Béni Mellal have urged citizens to engage with patriotism and responsibility in the efforts of the authorities and health services to contain this pandemic.
