Carmen beach. – Governor Carlos Joaquín held the protest to the new authorities of the 11 city councils of the state, who within the framework of the Third Ordinary Session of the State Health Council (COESA) and social determinants are formally integrated into the Quintana Roo network of municipalities by health.

In this regard, the Secretary of Health, Alejandra Aguirre Crespo, welcoming the new members, highlighted the sum of efforts of all levels of government to respond to the health needs of the population.

The Network of Municipalities for Health constitutes a space for work and technical cooperation for municipalities, local and federal authorities of the country to share plans, projects and innovative actions in health matters and the strengthening of community actions for the development of favorable environments to health.

Representatives and mayors of all the municipalities of Quintana Roo participated in the formal act of taking the protest, held in the city of Playa del Carmen, and the municipal president of Solidaridad, Roxana Campos Miranda, was elected president of the Quintana Roo Network of Promoting Municipalities Of the health.

The municipal president of Benito Juárez, Mara Lezama Espinoza, Emir Bellos Tun, municipal president of Lázaro Cárdenas, Alfredo Contreras Méndez, municipal president of Bacalar, Atenea Gómez Ricalde, municipal president of Isla Mujeres; Juanita Alonso Marrufo, municipal president of Cozumel; Blanca Tziu Muñoz, municipal president of Puerto Morelos; Maricarmen Hernández Solís, municipal president of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, as well as representatives of the municipalities of Othón P. Blanco, Tulum and José María Morelos.

Aguirre Crespo specified that the governor is a permanent manager to maintain and improve health services in the entity, “to have efficient medical units, and we know that we will continue to advance with the will of all of you, of all municipal, state and local authorities. the federation ”.

He explained that COESA is the highest collegiate body of the state in which strategies are analyzed, evaluated, proposed and designed in favor of the public health of Quintana Roo residents.

“With the commitment of all the members of COESA, we are working on agreements that seek to resolve issues of public health and epidemiological interest and that require all our attention and work together,” he emphasized.

Also, he added, we are working on actions to address HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, the elimination of malaria, and the timely detection of breast and cervical cancer, which are the first and second leading causes of death from tumors in Mexico. women over 25 years old.

“Working together, in an organized, coordinated, forceful and effective way allows us to face threats to health, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, including as a primary factor the involvement and social participation of the population, so that favorable behaviors are promoted. to health that minimize the risks that may damage integrity and well-being ”, he pointed out.

In this context, he highlighted that the Quintana Roo network of municipalities for health plays a fundamental role in the promotion and preservation of health in the municipalities that comprise it.

“We will continue to seek the exchange of experiences and mutual collaboration to promote spaces for communication and technical cooperation between our institutions, to improve the quality of life of Quintana Roo”, he pointed out.
