“Audi Brussels may build a new electric model from 2026” | Economy

The Q8 e-tron, that will be the new model that will be built at the Audi factory in Brussels. At least that is what the German trade magazine Automobilwoche writes on the basis of sources at the group. The final decision would fall in November.

The Audi e-tron is currently being built at Audi Brussels. It will receive a final update in 2023, after which the model will come to an end three years later.

From 2026, the Q8 e-tron, probably a slightly larger SUV than the e-tron, would roll off the production line in the Brussels factory, Automobilwoche says. If confirmed, the factory’s future is assured for a number of additional years.

In March, Peter Kössler, who is responsible for production and logistics at Audi, already said that Brussels would get a successor. “The factory in Brussels is important to us and an essential part of our production network,” he said at the time. “The e-tron has now passed a third of its life and we will see what happens afterwards. There will be a successor, but it is still too early for more information today.”

At the end of last year, the Belgian Audi factory seized the electric model Landjet. It will be built in Hanover from 2024.
