The Attorney General’s Office announced this Saturday that it confirmed a ruling that sanctioned the mayor of Malambo, Rummenigge Monsalve Álvarez, with suspension from office for three months, without remuneration, for alleged mismanagement of resources to attend an emergency by COVID-19.
The control entity opened a disciplinary investigation to the mayor of Malambo, for alleged irregularities in the signing and execution of Contract 001 of 2020, with the Lirio de los Valles Foundation, for $ 4,000 million, to acquire market kits for the vulnerable population of the municipality .
In addition, the Attorney General’s Office requested an insurance measure against Rummenigge Monsalve Álvarez, for irregularities during the health emergency. The control entity says that it has been able to establish that the mayor initially signed a contract for March 4, 2020, for $ 4 billion to supply 80 thousand market kits for the vulnerable population, invoking the direct contracting modality.
On April 13, another yes was signed that, without increasing the value of the contract, modified the number of deliveries to two per family. A professional from the municipality’s Social Projects Area was in charge of processing and supervising such a contract.
