Fifth in the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Hawks fell stronger than them on Sunday. At home, they have indeed imposed against the Milwaukee Bucks (111-104), No. 3 of the same conference. Georgia’s franchise, however, only made the difference at the end of the game, after running behind the score for a long time.

At the break, the Bucks had a small lead (51-43), which they kept for much of the second period, going as far as leading by 10 points (80-70, 36 ‘). Atlanta took the lead in the 41st minute, following a three-point shot from Lou Williams (85-84). Then, a few moments later, the Hawks escaped (95-89, 43rd; 100-90, 44th) and headed for victory.

Still without Trae Young (left ankle sprain), Atlanta relied on Bogdan Bogdanovic, and the latter did not disappoint his team. He scored 32 points (12/21 shooting including 6/11 three-pointers), tying his season record. Lou Williams has scored 15 points, all in the fourth quarter.

Atlanta returns to New York
On the Milwaukee side, Giannis Antetokounmpo signed a double-double with 31 points and 14 rebounds, well assisted by Khris Middleton (23 pts) and Jrue Holiday (19). Axel Toupane remained on the sidelines.

Thanks to their success, the Atlanta Hawks joined the New York Knicks in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 34 wins and 27 losses. The two teams will engage in a remote duel Monday, as the Hawks will be in Detroit, while New York will host Phoenix, which lost Sunday to Brooklyn (128-119).

Beal emmène Washington
The Washington Wizards, for their part, continued their strong winning streak. By winning against the Cleveland Cavaliers (119-110), they now have eight consecutive successes. Sunday, however, the Wizards have distorted company to the “Cavs” in the last two minutes, on a series of shots from Daniel Gafford, Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook.

Beal was the most magical in the Washington ranks with 33 points. Westbrook scored 14 and also distributed 11 assists. The Wizards will look to continue their unbeaten run on Monday against San Antonio.

Open ankle fracture for Cannady
The Indiana Pacers signed a third straight victory on the floor of the Orlando Magic (131-112). The match was marked by the serious injury of Devin Cannady, back of the Magic. Badly fell back after an action during the first quarter, he was the victim of an open fracture of the right ankle.

Finally, to conclude the evening, the Golden State Warriors beat the Sacramento Kings (117-113). The game was close from start to finish. The Warriors were definitely out of reach of their opponent, in the dying seconds, on two free throws from Stephen Curry. The latter finished the meeting with 37 points.
