At least 28 people were killed and dozens injured in an air raid on Saturday January 4 against a military school in Tripoli, a spokesman for the health ministry of the Union government told AFP. national (GNA). “Air strike against Tripoli military school killed 28 cadets and injured dozens more”said Amin Al-Hashemi.

This military school is located in Al-Hadba Al-Khadra, a residential area of ​​the Libyan capital under GNA control.

At the time of the strike, the cadets were making their last rally of the day in the main courtyard before returning to their dormitories, said the spokesperson. The GNA health ministry also called for donations of blood, inviting donors to visit hospitals and the blood bank.

Heavy fighting since April

The southern suburbs of Tripoli have been the scene of heavy fighting since April 4, the start of the offensive by Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the strongman of eastern Libya, to seize the Libyan capital, seat of the GNA recognized by UN.
