Eight people have been hospitalized and a number of people are still missing after the explosion at an Applegreen gas station in Christophe, County Donegal.
Police said search and rescue operations are underway, involving teams from Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The gas station, which housed a shop and post office, collapsed in the explosion.
Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin said the incident was one of the “darkest days in Donegal and the whole country.”
