At least 10 people have been killed in a shooting spree in a city near Los Angeles in the western United States.
Los Angeles police authorities said that a shooting occurred in Monterey Park at around 10:10 pm on the 21st local time, resulting in many casualties and that about 10 injured people were transferred to the hospital.
Police added that the suspect fled the scene and has not yet been arrested.
In addition, the suspect was identified as a male, but detailed identities such as name were not disclosed.
It is known that tens of thousands of people gathered in Monterey Park on this day to celebrate the Lunar New Year celebration.
The city is about 11 kilometers east of downtown Los Angeles, and two-thirds of the population is Asian American.
