A self-built submarine, an off-road wheelchair, a flying bathtub: YouTube stars Philipp and Johannes Mickenbecker are known for their crazy experiments. But in autumn 2020 Philipp suddenly said in front of the camera: “I have terminal cancer. And the doctors only give me two months to live. “
Philipp and Johannes Mickenbecker are YouTube stars. As “The Real Life Guys”, the twins embody a young generation who do crazy things outside and film themselves in the process: with a self-made submarine, an off-road wheelchair, a flying bathtub. Their videos on the Internet often achieve several million clicks.
Real Life
But the ideal world of fun on social media suddenly shakes when Philipp has a cancerous tumor for the second time and his sister dies in a plane crash. As if by a miracle, Philipp gets well and starts making outdoor videos with his brother again. In 2018 he spoke for the first time on YouTube about his defeated illness – and about his newfound faith.
In autumn 2020, however, Philipp will be in front of the camera again and says: «I want to take you into our real life and not pretend that everything is always perfect with us. I have cancer again. In the terminal stage. And the doctors give me a maximum of two months to live. “
